LUBBOCK, Texas -- University of Delaware sophomore first baseman Nick Patten (Butler, Pa./IMG Academy) was named to the All-Regional Team for the Lubbock regional of the 2017 NCAA Baseball Tournament.

Patten went 3-for-7 with a run scored and two RBI over the two games. The slugging first baseman also walked three times and made several excellent defensive plays to lead the Blue Hens.

The 2017 Colonial Athletic Association first team selection concluded the season hitting .312 with teamh-highs of 14 home runs, 58 runs scored, and 54 RBI. Patten also made just five errors in the field.

The CAA champion Blue Hens (34-23) made a spirited run at the regionals this past weekend before coming up just short in both outings. Delaware fell to national No. 5 seed Texas Tech 5-2 in Friday's opener before dropping a heartbreaker to regional No. 2 seed Arizona 6-5 in 12 innings in Saturday's elimination game.
