NEWARK, Del. -- The Blue Hens baseball team is looking to repeat as Colonial Athletic Association champions in 2018. The preparation has already begun as 15 Blue Hens have decided to partake in ‘summer ball' action.

“We are always excited when our players decide to play in summer league action, regardless of where they end up,” head coach Jim Sherman said. “This season we're extremely pleased to have kids playing in leagues all around the country, including [Kyle] Baker and [Nick] Patten, who are playing in the Cape- the premier summer league. Pitchers [Nick] Spadafino and [Kyle] Hinton are in the Coastal Plain, which is also a premier league. As a staff we feel it's extremely important for our guys to stay sharp and continue to face top-end talent. Delaware Baseball is well represented, and I am proud of all of our guys.”

Sophomore's Nick Patten and Kyle Baker are currently playing for the Chatham Anglers of the illustrious Cape Cod League. Baker, was a recent addition to the Anglers squad, while Patten was named the first Cape League Player of the week back in May.
