NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women’s cross country squad will host its second and final home meet of the season Saturday when it welcomes a full field for the annual Blue & Gold Invitational at White Clay Creek State Park.

The women’s six-kilometer race will get underway at 9:45 a.m. followed by the men’s eight-kilometer competition at 10:15 a.m.

Admission to the meet is free but there is a Delaware State Park fee of $4 for in-vehicles and $8 for out-of-state vehicles to enter the park.

The meet will include competitors from 10 college and club teams, including Delaware, Brookdale (N.J.) Community College, Delaware Track Club, Delaware Tech, Dominican, Georgian Court, Holy Family, Mercer (N.J.) Community College, Seton Hall, and Wilmington (Del.) University.

The Blue Hens will be competing at home for the second time this season after dominating the field at the Delaware Invitational back on Sept. 16. In that race, Delaware posted a team score of 18 to capture first place among 10 teams.

Delaware senior Liz McGroarty led the way for the Hens as she captured first place with a time of 23:05.59 and was among nine UD runners who finished in the top 10.
