NEWARK, Del. – The target date and opponent has been set for the University of Delaware women’s basketball program.

 

Coming off an appearance in the WNIT last year and returning nearly 90-percent of their statistical leaders, the Blue Hens are excited to get the 2018-19 season started and now that start date is set for Friday, Nov. 9, the opening round of the 25thannual Preseason WNIT.

 

Delaware, who will be participating in the preseason WNIT for the fourth time, will be on the road taking on the Panthers of Northern Iowa at 9:30 p.m. EST.

 

A Blue Hen victory would bring a match-up against the winner of Montana State and Marquette, which would be played on Nov. 11.

 

All teams are guaranteed at least three games, with the losers of the opening round being brought into a consolation round schedule determined after Round 1.

 

The Championship game of the Preseason WNIT will be televised on CBS Sports Network at 4:30 p.m. EST on Sunday, Nov. 18.
