Benjamin Michael Sampson • son of Mark and Louise Sampson • born Jan. 29, 1994 in Rochester, N.Y. • honor student as an electrical engineering major at Delaware • father works for 3M • has two younger sisters, Rachel and Liz, in addition to two younger brothers, John and Scott • selected Delaware because of its engineering program and soccer team • started playing soccer at the age of five • considers his father his biggest sports influence • lived in Poland for two years and in Singapore for six years as a youngster • enjoys sailing, playing pickleball and tennis in his free time • served as an image processing intern at Phase Sensitive Innovations this past summer • has been trying to learn to read people’s lips.
