Elyse Colleen Andrews • born June 1, 1994 in Newark, Del. • daughter of Frank and Dr. Carla Andrews • mother is a Delaware alum and current veterinarian • has an older brother, Brendan, who plays lacrosse at McDaniel College • father played football and lacrosse at Navy (1980-84) • aunt, Theresa Andrews, was a swimmer for the University of Florida • cites her father as the biggest influence in her life because he constantly pushes her to be her best and always will help her improve her game • chose Delaware because of the great academics, great teammates and a beautiful campus • majoring in exercise science with a minor in Biology and Spanish with the goal of becoming a vet or doctor • enjoys reading, playing with her pets and hanging out with friends • volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware, Christiana and Wilmington hospitals and Exceptional Care for Children • studied abroad in Spain • on the UDance executive board • completed research with sports medicine team doctor, Dr. Kristopher Fayock, during the summer of 2015.
