Volleyball Coaching Staff

Dana Griskowitz begins her fifth season on the University of Delaware volleyball staff and her second as assistant coach during the 2016 campaign.

A native of Newark, Del. and a graduate of nearby St. Mark’s High School, Griskowitz served three seasons as the program's first director of operations before getting promoted to assistant coach in July, 2015.

In her previous role Griskowitz assisted former head coach Bonnie Kenny and her staff with team travel, coordinated recruiting visits, worked with the UD compliance, business, and equipment rooms, and assisted in scheduling of practices and competition.

Griskowitz earned her degree in sport management from Delaware in 2011, completing her studies in just three years. She earned her master’s degree in public administration with a specialization in non-profit management at Delaware in May, 2015.

As an undergraduate at UD, she served as a student manager for the men’s lacrosse program for four years and was part of teams that captured CAA titles and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in both 2010 and 2011.

She has an extensive background in the sport of volleyball, having played three seasons at St. Mark’s High School. She led St. Mark’s to the state title as a setter in 2006 and to a state runner-up finish in 2007. She was an All-State performer and received the school’s Dave Reynolds Award which “recognizes the student that represents a passion for life, a passion for school, and a passion for athletics.”

Griskowitz began her coaching career at her alma mater as she served as a varsity assistant at St. Mark’s for four seasons and helped lead the Spartans to state titles in 2010 and 2011. While at St. Mark’s, she also served as the head coach of the freshman team and was a four-year assistant for the boy’s volleyball team. Additionally, she has coached travel teams in Delaware and been active as a coach at various summer camps.

She previously was an intern and program assistant for the International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Program (ICECP) and had the opportunity to travel to Colorado Springs, Colo. and stay at the Olympic Training Center. She also traveled to Lausanne, Switzerland and visited the International Olympic Committee headquarters.
