Deputy Athletic Director Coaching Staff
Coach Info:

Samantha K. Huge is in her third year as Deputy Director of Athletics and Recreation Services at the University of Delaware.

Since arriving at Delaware in July 2009, Huge has served as a member of the division’s senior management team. In addition to the oversight of several sport programs, she has been responsible for the day-to-day business and administrative operations of the division, including external operations, fiscal management, capital projects, personnel and human resources, and NCAA compliance.

When former UD Director of Athletics Bernard Muir was hired as Director of Athletics at Stanford University in July 2012, Huge served as Delaware's Interim Director of Athletics and Recreation Services before current Director of Athletics and Recreation Services Eric Ziady was hired.

In September 2013, University President Patrick Harker announced that he had asked Huge take on new responsibilities and to assume the additional title of Special Assistant to the President. In her new role with the President’s Office, Huge will be responsible for managing special projects involving athletics, development, legal and regulatory compliance, and facilities planning.

“The President’s Office is fortunate to have someone like Samantha to provide extra support as we plan for the future of athletics and recreation at UD,” Harker said. “Samantha did a superb job as interim athletic director last year, and she brings an unusual blend of hands-on experience and vision to the President’s Office.”

Huge (pronounced "hugh-gee"/hard g) was appointed to the NCAA Women’s Basketball Issues Committee in September 2013.  She is a former member of the NCAA Committee on Academic Performance and of the NCAA Amateurism Clearinghouse Advisory Group. Prior to her appointment at the University of Delaware, Huge held senior administrative positions in the athletics departments at Wake Forest University and Georgetown University. She also served in the athletics compliance offices of the Southern Conference, the University of Illinois and Michigan State University.

Huge graduated in 1992 from Gordon College, where she played varsity basketball for four years. She earned her law degree from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University in North Carolina in 1997.
