NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware softball head coach Jaime Wohlbach has announced that Giovanna Kolofer has signed a National Letter of Intent with the Blue Hens and will enroll at UD in the fall.

Kolofer, who attends Notre Dame High School in Salinas, Calif., earned first team All-Tri County Athletic League honors during each of her first three years. A first honor roll student who served as team captain during the 2012 season, Kolofer was named All-Monterey County by both the Salinas Californian and Monterey County Herald as both a sophomore and a junior.

Kolofer batted .461 during her junior season with a .544 on base percentage, 35 hits, 22 runs scored, 19 RBI, and 14 stolen bases.

Kolofer is the sixth member of the Blue Hens’ Class of 2017, joining Sarah Bencivenga, Abby Cline, Megan Largey, Emily Sanchez, and Danielle “Boo” Wissinger.
