Alissa Alker is in her second season as the graduate assistant for facilities and operations with the University of Delaware Department of Athletics in 2013-14.
Alker was a standout for the Blue Hens volleyball team from 2009-12 before graduating in May 2013. She led Delaware to CAA Tournament appearances during all four of her seasons, including the 2010 and 2011 Championship titles.
The San Diego, Calif. native holds place in the UD record books in multiple categories. She ranks sixth all-time with 1,319 career kills and eighth with 2.83 kills per game. Additionally, Alker recorded three 20 kill/20 dig matched during her career, which ties her for third-most in school history.
Alker was named to the CAA All-Rookie Team in 2009 after finishing third on the team with 239 kills and 59 blocks. In subsequent years, Alker picked up third team All-CAA honors (2010) before earning first team All-CAA honors and being named a CAA All-Tournament Team selection as a junior and senior.
She also picked up CAA Academic Honor Roll accolades during her sophomore, junior and senior seasons.
As a junior, Alker was also named a AVCA All-East Region Honorable mention pick.
In her final year in a Blue Hen uniform, Alker was named the UD Alumni Association Team MVP.
