POWELLS POINT, N.C. -- The University of Delaware men’s golf squad carded a 299 team score on Monday and sits in 16th place following the second round of the ODU Outer Banks Intercollegiate.

The Blue Hens improved nine strokes from their opening round 308 on Sunday, and have a two-round total of 607 heading into Tuesday’s final round. Hartford leads the 18-team field with a 567 score, while Elon is second at 569 and Marshall sits in third place at 570.

Blue Hen senior Dan Costenbader carded a six over par 77 during Monday’s round on the par 71, 6,550-yard Kilmarlic Golf Course, ending the day tied for 33rd place in the individual standings with a five over par 70-77-147. Junior Niño Rosal fired a seven over par 78 during his second round, concluding the day tied for 74th place with a 13 over par score of 77-78-155.

Sophomore Kyle Martin improved by seven strokes from his opening round by firing a three over par 74 on Monday, and will also enter Tuesday’s action tied for 74th place at 81-74-155, 13 over par. Junior Fraser Graham, who fired a five over par 76 during Monday’s round, is tied for 78th place with a 14 over par score of 80-76-156.

UD freshman Marc Oliveri had the best day by a Blue Hen, as he carded a career-low one over par 72, ending the day tied for 80th place at 85-72-157, 15 over par.

Logan Lagodich of Marshall continues to lead the individual standings with a six under par 69-67-136, while Jamison Randall of Old Dominion and Rocky Khara of VCU are each two strokes back.

The Blue Hens conclude their 2013 fall season on Tuesday during the third and final round of the invitational.
