UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Separated by just two seconds, junior Lindsay Prettyman and senior Katie Deinert led the University of Delaware women’s cross country team to a 10th place finish Friday afternoon at the 2012 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional at Penn State’s University Park course.

The Blue Hens finished 10th out of 31 schools by totaling 340 points, the highest finish at an NCAA Regional for Delaware since an eight place showing in 2009.

The race continued a successful 2012 season for the Blue Hen women, who captured three meet titles and placed third at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships.

Host Penn State captured the women’s title with 28 points, while Georgetown finished second with 63 points. Villanova was third followed by Princeton and West Virginia.

The Georgetown men captured the men's title by defeating Villanova by a single point.

Prettyman, a junior who led Delaware in all six races she ran this season, led the Hens again as she finished 53rd overall in the six-kilometer race with a time of 20:16.2.

Deinert, a senior, was right behind her in 56th place as she crossed the finish line in 22:08.8.

Rounding out the rest of the Delaware runners were Kellye Foulke (70th in 22:22), Nicole Daly (75th in 22:28), Michele Lambert (86th in 22:45), Alyssa Kennedy (96th in 22:55), and Rachel Weinberger (130th in 23:21).
