OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Former University of Delaware golfer Joey McLister tied for 11th place over the weekend at the PGA Web.com Tour’s Midwest Classic Presented by Cadillac.
McLister carded a 13 under par 67-70-69-65-271 on the par 71 Nicklaus Golf Course at LionsGate on Thursday through Sunday, barely finishing outside of the top 10 at the tournament.
Due to his recent play, McLister has earned a spot in this weekend’s Albertsons Boise Open Presented by Kraft at Hillcrest Country Club in Boise, Idaho. He will again compete in the Web.com Tour stop at the Mylan Classic at Southpoint Golf Course in Canonsburg, Pa. the following weekend on August 1-4.
McLister, a first team All-Colonial Athletic Association selection in 2006, is one of the top players in Delaware golf history. His 74.66 career average round is the second lowest in school history, while he posted the lowest average round on the Blue Hens during all four of his seasons. His 72.85 round average in 2005-06 and his 73.69 average in 2006-07 still rank second and third, respectively, in UD history.
