NEWARK, Del. -- University of Delaware women’s golf head coach Patty Post has announced that Marie Bogenez and Vitoria Teixeira have signed National Letters of the Intent with UD and will begin competing for the Blue Hens this fall.

Bogenez (at right), a native of Marly, France, has been a club champion since 2009. She was ranked 52nd in the 2012 junior amateur girls rankings, and was the regional women’s champion in 2012 as well. Additionally Bogenez, who plans on majoring in international business at UD, was the regional junior champion in 2011 and the regional junior vice champion a year later.

“Marie will be a great addition to the team!,” Post commented. “She has an enthusiasm for golf, the University of Delaware and the team that will be a very contagious positive influence! She has a lot of potential to be an impact player.”

Teixeira (at left), a native of Bradenton, Fla., earned medalist honors at the IMG Leadbetter Golf Junior Tour in February, 2011 and at the HJGT at Tara Preserve in October, 2011. She finished 13th at the Orange Bowl International Junior Championship in December, and was also 17th at the Doral Publix Junior Classic during that month.

Last year Teixeira, who will major in engineering at Delaware, placed 20th at the South American Amateur Championship in Colombia and fifth at the South American Junior Championship in Bolivia.

“Vitoria has an enormous amount of experience and depth in her golf game,” Post said. “She is extremely talented and will make an immediate positive impact on our team! We are very much looking forward to her addition to the Blue Hens this fall!”

Bogenez and Teixeira join Grace Chua in the Blue Hens’ Class of 2017, as Chua signed with Delaware during last fall.
