Named to the Colonial Athletic Association Academic Honor Roll • member of Delaware team that tallied a 26-27 overall record with a 10-10 CAA record which was good for a fourth place finish in the conference • Played in 34 games and earned a start in 12 contests • tallied a .236 batting average and earned nine walks on the year • Scored six runs and drove in eight in 2014 • registered a season-high two hits in Delaware's 9-2 loss to Campbell on Feb. 22 and also belted out two hits in UD's 18-6 defeat to La Salle on April 8.

Had an award-winning season as a redshirt freshman with the Blue Hens as he was named to the Colonial Athletic Association All-Rookie Team, was CAA Rookie of the Week on Feb. 28, and was selected to the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll • led Delaware to runner-up finish at the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament • appeared in 53 games that included a 47 starts in the outfield for the Blue Hens • finished the season with a .316 batting average (59 for 187) with 9 doubles, 27 RBI and 19 runs scored • produced 16 multi-hit games, 5 multi-runs scored games, and 6 multi-RBI games • tallied a four-hit game on Apr. 8 at William & Mary where he went 4 for 4 with one RBI • amassed two, six-game hitting streaks - Mar. 7-20 where he hit .333 (9 for 27) and May 18-25 where he hit .300 (9 for 30) • made six starts for the Blue Hens at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships • hit .231 (6 for 26) with 2 doubles, 5 RBI, and 1 run scored.

Tyler Young Powell • son of Todd and Charlene Powell • has two younger brothers • father, Todd (Delaware '87), played four years of baseball and two years of football at Delaware • Todd was a catcher and outfielder in baseball who played in 158 career games at Delaware (1984-87) for head coach Bob Hannah • Todd batted .346 with 32 home runs, 153 RBI, and 31 stolen bases and served as co-captain in 1987 • brother, Jake, was a member of the UD football team in 2014 • grandfather, Tom Powell, played football at Colgate for four years • honor student as an accounting major at Delaware.
