Paul Lowry begins his fourth year serving as assistant athletic trainer at the University of Delaware during the 2016-17 season.
A 2009 graduate of Delaware, Lowry is the head athletic trainer for the Blue Hen men's basketball team and worked closely with the team that captured the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2014.
During the spring season, Lowry also works with the three-time defending CAA champion Blue Hen field hockey squad.
Lowry was a student athletic trainer while at Delaware and worked with several different Blue Hen teams before earning his degree in athletic training in 2009. He moved on to Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C. where he earned his master's degree in exercise science in 2011.
Before coming to Delaware, he served one year in a full-time role as assistant athletic trainer at Campbell in 2012-13 where he was responsible for coverage of football and women's lacrosse practices and competitions and with summer camps.
While a graduate assistant at Campbell in 2009-12, Lowry served as head athletic trainer for the Camels' men's basketball, men's and women's track & field, baseball, and men's soccer teams and added support for spring football and summer camps.
Also at Campbell, Lowry was a state-approved clinical instructor who served as a health and wellness instructor and as a spine board instructor.
He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and is a certified CPR instructor with the American Heart Association.
Lowry and his girlfriend, Alex Arthur, welcomed the birth of their first child, son Ferris, on July 8, 2016.
