RICHMOND, Va. -- University of Delaware senior guard Devon Saddler earned his second conference honor in three weeks as he was selected the Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week on Monday.

Saddler (Aberdeen, Md./Aberdeen) scored 23 points during both Blue Hen victories last week, and also averaged 5.0 rebounds per contest. He went 17 of 34 from the field, in addition to going a combined 8 of 11 from the free throw line.

Saddler scored a game-high 23 points during last Monday’s 90-77 victory at Drexel, going 9 of 14 from the field and 4 of 5 from the foul line. He also led Delaware with eight rebounds, and dished out seven assists on the night. He again paced the squad with 23 points in the 83-76 triumph over Towson on Saturday, and knocked down three three-pointers including the back-breaking triple with 1:02 left that put the Blue Hens up eight.

Saddler currently leads the Blue Hens by averaging 21.9 points per game this season, and is shooting 50.7 percent from the field including 41.1 percent from behind the arc. He has tied the school record by surpassing the 20-point mark in seven consecutive games, and with 1,976 career points, needs just 55 more to break the school record.

Saddler, who was also named the CAA Player of the Week on Jan. 13, shared this week’s honors with Scott Eatherton of Northeastern.

Saddler and the Blue Hens, who are 14-7 overall and a perfect 6-0 in the conference, will look for their ninth straight victory Wednesday at William & Mary.
