NEW YORK  --  University of Delaware senior Lindsay Prettyman captured the mile run in record time and the Blue Hen women’s indoor track & field squad had two other top 10 finishes during the second and final day of the Armory Collegiate Invitational Saturday at the New York City Armory.

Prettyman, who has now won five individual meet titles this season, set her second record of the indoor season as she won the mile competition with a time of 4:46.90 to outdistance runners from top programs such as Arkansas, Ohio State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Kansas.

Her winning time set a new Delaware indoor record, breaking one of the Blue Hens’ oldest marks of 4:51.6 by Mary Schilly-Knisely way back in 1980. Prettyman also qualified for the post-season ECAC Championships with her winning time.

“We have some very good momentum this season,” said Delaware head coach Wendy McFarlane. “The ladies are progressing nicely. We look to have a larger contingent at the ECAC Championships in March.”

In addition to Prettyman, Delaware’s Michele Lambert placed ninth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:28.74, good enough to qualify for the ECAC championships, and the 4 x 200 meter relay team of Tyler Jackson, Toresha Foster, Breanna Nicholson, and Kelley Donovan also finished ninth with a time of 1:42.64.

Also for Delaware on Saturday, the 4 x 400 meter relay team of Nicholson, Foster, Chelsi Campbell, and Donovan placed 15th in an ECAC qualifying time of 3:52.14; Betsy Erlanger was 32nd in the mile (5:13.45); Alexandra Carroll was 37th in the 800 meters (2:18.36); Emily Gispert was 45th in the 800 meters (2:19.17); and Foster was 50th in the 200 meters (25.52).
