HONOLULU, O’ahu -- University of Delaware softball senior captain Brittney Noons represented the Blue Hens on the Oceanic Time Warner Cable All-Tournament Team for her performance at the season-opening invitational this week.

Noons, a native of Dighton, Mass. (Dighton-Rehoboth Regional HS), earned the start as the team’s designated player during Saturday’s semifinal game against 13th-ranked UCLA, and recorded UD’s lone hit of the contest with a leadoff single to centerfield in the top of the sixth inning.

Noons again started as the designated player during the Blue Hens’ 5-2 victory over Hampton in the consolation game and blasted a solo home run to center during the top of the sixth inning, giving Delaware an insurance run.

Noons was joined on the all-tournament team by Danielle Budden and Taylor Clark of Hampton; Heather Morales, Leisha Li’ili’i, and Lindsay Willmon of Hawai’i; and Gracie Goulder, Gabrielle Maurice, Mysha Sataraka, Delaney Spaulding, and Jessica Hall of UCLA.

Bruins hurler Ally Carda was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Pitcher, while her teammate Alyssa Tiumalu was tabbed Most Valuable Player.
