NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women’s lacrosse season is nearly underway and the Blue Hens invite all alumnae, family, friends, and fans to their third annual Ice Breaker reception.

The event will be held March 8 following the team’s 1 p.m. contest against Villanova.

All who register for the event are welcome to catch up with old friends and enjoy the game in the Bob Carpenter Center Club, which overlooks the game field and access is generally reserved for Delaware Diamonds members (donors at the $1,000 and up giving level). The club will open at noon and a cash bar will be available.

Immediately following the game between the Blue Hens and Wildcats, the team will host a reception in the Bob Carpenter Center lobby where fans have the opportunity to meet the 2014 Hens and their families.

Registration is $30 per person and covers entrance to the Bob Carpenter Center Club, a t-shirt designed by a current women’s lacrosse student-athlete, drink ticket and reception following the game.

Delaware women’s lacrosse alumnae will also receive a complimentary ticket to the Villanova game.  Registration for children aged seven to 12 years old is $15 (reception only). Delaware Diamond members and children ages six and younger will be admitted free.

Online registration will remain open until Tuesday, March 4. Those interested are encouraged to register before February 15 to guarantee t-shirt size.

The Blue Hens kick off the 2014 regular season this Saturday with a 1 p.m. contest at No. 10 Georgetown.
