NEWARK, Del.  -- Due to the recent snowstorms and frigid temperatures that have delayed renovations to Bob Hannah Stadium, the University of Delaware announced Thursday several changes to its upcoming baseball schedule.

Delaware’s three-game set this weekend against Rider, which had already been moved to Harford Community College in Bel Air, Md., will remain at that venue but with several time changes. The game, scheduled for 1 p.m. tomorrow, March 7, has been moved to a 5 p.m. start with Saturday’s game, March 8, moved back an hour to a 5 p.m. first pitch. The series finale on Sunday, March 9, remains a 1 p.m. start.

Delaware also announced that next weekend’s three-game home series with Fairfield will also now be played at Harford Community College. The Blue Hens and Stags will square off on Friday, March 14 at 3 p.m.; Saturday, March 15 at 1 p.m.; and Sunday, March 16 at 1 p.m.

Two additional changes to the schedule will also be in place.

Delaware’s home game vs. the University of Maryland set for Tuesday, March 18, will now be played at Harford Community College with the start set for either 6:30 or 7 p.m.

Finally, Delaware’s scheduled home game vs. local foe Wilmington University set for Wednesday, March 19, will now be played at Wilmington’s Wilson Field in New Castle at 3 p.m.

Delaware, led by 14th-year head coach Jim Sherman, will take a 4-6 record into the Rider series. The Broncs will enter the three-game set with a mark of 2-6 on the young season.
