NEWARK, Del.  -- Members of the University of Delaware football squad had the opportunity to meet fans and members of the media on Sunday afternoon as part of the annual UD Football Media/Photo Day at Delaware Stadium.

Under beautiful sunny skies and warm temperatures, the 95 members of the squad and the Blue Hen coaching staff had group photos taken, had the chance to chat with fans and sign autographs, and conducted interviews about the coming season with the media members in attendance.

“It's been a good experience,” said Delaware head coach Dave Brock of the annual event, which took place on the team’s first day away from on-field practice. “It's a good day for the players. The kids love getting dressed up and getting their pictures taken and talking with the fans."

"It’s a great experience,” said Delaware linebacker Patrick Callaway, one of 17 seniors on the squad. “We have the chance to talk with the fans and the media and give them an update on how we are progressing. It's a day off from camp and it's a much needed break. I'm excited for the upcoming season, we've been practicing hard.”

The squad will continue with daily drills and practices Monday, Aug. 11 with the next scrimmage set for Saturday, Aug. 16, at 3:30 p.m. in Delaware Stadium. All Delaware practices and scrimmages are open to the public.

The season opener will be Saturday, Aug. 30 on the road at Atlantic Coast Conference foe Pittsburgh with the home opener set for Saturday, Sept. 6 vs. in-state foe Delaware State at 6 p.m. at Delaware Stadium.
