As an official affiliate, UD CROSSFIT will provide a unique workout experience for participant's of all fitness levels at the University of Delaware Recreation facility, the Lil Bob. Classes include movements that are functional, safe and adaptable for all. Each class is one hour, no two days are the same and results are dramatic. 

UD CROSSFIT aims to build an inclusive fitness community that pushes each and every participant to reach their full potential in the gym. All workouts are scalable and classes tailored to beginner, experienced, and elite athletes will be offered to accomodate participants of all fitness levels. Our certified CrossFit coaches will provide expert insight and support so participants can continue to hit new PR's and maximize their results. The camaraderie and support found in CrossFit is unlike any other fitness program, and is a big part of what makes it so rewarding. Expect to be motivated with high fives and chants of encouragement from the group, while also being held accountable to keep coming back for more.

MEET THE COACHING TEAM

 

HEAD COACH: JESSE JUDY 

Jesse brings over 15 years of experience as a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level to the UD CROSSFIT program as head coach. He is a nationally certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, certified club coach with USA Weightlifting and CrossFit Level 1 trainer.  

Jesse graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Exercise Science and concentration in Strength and Conditioning. He then went on to earn his masters degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Oregon. Jesse and his wife, Senior Associate Athletic Director for the Blue Hens Jenn Judy, have two children, Katelyn and Jackson.  

ASSISTANT COACHES

ANDY

Andy brings over seven years of experience as a CrossFit coach to the UD CrossFit program. He is a certified CrossFit Level 1 & 2 Trainer, CrossFit Mobility Trainer, and CrossFit Olympic Lifting Trainer. Andy graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology and a minor in Biology. He has an affinity for nutrition and the cellular level impact CrossFit has on the body.

CAIT

Cait graduated from Rutgers University in 2010, where she played on the tennis team and majored in Criminal Justice. After college, she found CrossFit and is now striving to help others get involved in the program. She started her CrossFit coaching career at CrossFit Nittany in State College, PA in 2015.  Prior to that, she coached tennis at a collegiate and high school level, and worked as a Personal Trainer. Cait is a nationally certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, a certified club coach with USA Weightlifting, an ACE certified personal trainer, and a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer.

GIA

Gia graduated from UD in 2010 with a degree in Health and Physical Education. She has her CrossFit Level 1, CrossFit Level 2, CrossFit Movement & Mobility, and CrossFit Olympic Lifting certificates. Gia is a 4x Atlantic Regional competitor and has been doing CrossFit for almost 8 years. Her favorite CrossFit benchmark workout is Fran. 

RYAN

Ryan has been using the CrossFit methodology as a way of training for close to four years and has been actively coaching within the CrossFit community for over three years. He has a CrossFit level 1 and Gymnastics certification.  Ryan is working on obtaining a bachelor's degree in Sports Management from Wilmington University and is planning to graduate in the spring of 2018.

STEVE

Steve is a current PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Delaware. Outside of his studies, he enjoys being active, specifically with CrossFit. Steve has his CrossFit level 1 and level 2 certificates and has been coaching CrossFit for over seven years in various gyms across the east coast. Steve hopes to bring a welcoming, yet intense and inspiring, atmosphere to the UD CrossFit program.

 

 


  

CLASS SCHEDULE

2/6-5/15: SPRING CLASS SCHEDULE 

 *The 6:30 p.m. WOD class scheduled for Wednesday will be replaced with a form seminar on select dates (see below)

  

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

  • BASICS - This class is for participants that are new to CrossFit and want to learn the fundamental movements needed to advance their training. The classes will be kept small to ensure participants get the attention needed to learn the technical aspects of the fundamental CrossFit movements.   
  • WOD - (workout of the day) this class is geared towards participants that have experience with CrossFit and/or a basic understanding of the movements and terminology. Workouts are universally scalable to accommodate participants of all fitness levels.   
  • OPEN GYM - This will be a dedicated time for members to come in to practice skills, movements, mobility, etc. An instructional WOD will not occur during this time, but a coach will be present for questions and feedback on form. Open gym provides an opportunity for anyone who is looking to work on skills that they may not have enough time to focus on during a regular WOD class.


SEMINARS

RESERVE YOUR SPOT IN CLASS

Join our CrossFit coaches for a series of FREE strength seminars throughout the semester. Each class will focus on one main movement - squats, deadlifts, presses, power cleans, and snatches.  
Seminars will include:

  • Instructional teaching on correct movement patterns
  • Exercise progressions
  • Causes of faulty movements
  • Personalized feedback and individualized technique development

These seminars will replace the Wednesday 6:30-7:30 p.m. WOD sessions.

UD students, employees and other members with access to the Lil Bob can puchase one of the membership options listed below. Puchases can be made online or at the Lil Bob cashier's window. Employess that want to use their Wellness Dollars must purchase through Healthy-U or at the Lil Bob cashier's window. Those using Healthy-U should allow up to 3 days for processing before their membership is activated.   

New to CrossFit? No worries! At the start of the semester, we will offer a week of Basics classes that will focus on covering the fundamental movements of CrossFit. Once you’ve learned the basics, you can start attending the WOD classes. If you are unable to attend the Basics classes during the first week of the semester, there will be a few Basics classes on the schedule throughout the semester that you can attend. If the coach feels the participant is not in a class that matches their ability, they will be moved to the appropriate level to ensure they get the necessary instruction and training.

CLASS SIGN UP

SIGN UP FOR A CLASS 

Participants must register for the class they want to attend prior to arriving online. Registration opens 24 hours before the class starts.

 

CANCELATION POLICY

If you are no longer able to take this class, you may cancel your reserved spot six hours before the start of class and up to one minute before the class start time. If you reserve a spot, do not cancel, and do not attend a class more than three times, your ability to register for classes will be suspended until you meet with our Fitness Coordinator. All sales are final and NO REFUNDS will be issued.

How to Cancel Your Reservation:

  3. Click "Programs" from the list on the left of the page
  4. Click "Cancel" for the class reservation you no longer want to attend
