NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men’s tennis team announced Friday it’s 2017-18 schedule, which will be highlighted by five fall invitationals and 15 home spring matches.

Led by second-year head coach Pablo Montana, the Blue Hens return nine letter winners from last season, including junior Blaise Casselbury (Lititz, Pa./Lancaster Country Day School) and senior Colin Wong (Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia/SMK Kota Kemuning).

Delaware opens the year with fall invitationals at Bucknell (September 8-10), Villanova (September 15-17), Navy (September 22-24) and Mount St. Mary’s (October 6-8). The Hens wrap the fall slate by traveling to the ITA Atlantic Regional, which will be held by Liberty University on October 19-23.

The Blue Hens kick off the spring campaign with six straight home matches. Matches against Villanova and Chestnut Hill will be played at DuPont Country Club with the other four being played at Elkton Indoor Tennis versus Wagner, Saint Joseph’s, James Madison and Mount St. Mary’s.

UD then goes on the road for the first time in the spring for matches against Swarthmore and Muhlenberg (February 17) before returning home to host Yesheva (February 18) and Bucknell (February 25).

The next 10 matches will find the Hens on the road before closing out home action at the Delaware Field House Outdoor Courts versus Philadelphia and Rider (April 4), Drexel (April 8) and West Chester and Howard (April 10).

Delaware closes regular season action with contests at La Salle (April 12) and Hofstra (April 16).

The 2018 Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Tennis Championships is set for April 20-22 and will be hosted once again by Elon University.
