PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Freshman Lotte de Koning (Vreeland, The Netherlands/RSG Broklede) tallied two goals Friday afternoon as No. 6 Delaware defeated Penn, 2-1, at Ellen Vagelos Field.
The midfielder put the Hens on board first in the 29th minute while Penn’s Alexa Hoover tied the game at 1-1 in the 47th minute.

The Hens (4-1) outshot the Quakers (0-3), 15-8, and also held a 9-3 advantage in penalty corners.
Senior goalie Emmeline Oltmans (Baarn, The Netherlands/Het Baarnsch Lyceum) notched four saves as Delaware won its third straight contest.
“It’s nice to come away with a win. We are a work in progress and we know what we have to do. I like to believe we are excited to have another opportunity to get back to DEHO [Delaware Hockey] the way we can play it on Sunday.”
Freshman midfielder Lotte de Koning
“I may have been credited with two goals, but the goals are really a team effort, it’s not me personally. We didn’t play DEHO [Delaware Hockey] today, but it’s good to get the win.”
