PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- The University of Delaware women’s golf team is tied for second place following Saturday’s action at the season-opening Rutgers Invitational.

The Blue Hens fired rounds of 307 and 305 to end the day tied for second out of 11 squads with a 612 score. Georgetown leads the field with a 610 total, while the Blue Hens and Rutgers are each two shots back.

UD junior Valentina Mueller carded a seven over par 75-76-151 on the on the par 72, 6,041-yard Rutgers Golf Course on Saturday to finish the day tied for fourth place. Sophomore Ariane Klotz, who fired an eight over par 77-75-152, is currently in sixth place.

Josefina Fernandez-Davila ended the day in 14th place with a 10 over par 78-76-154, while Ashley Dingman recorded a 12 over par 77-79-156 to finish the day tied for 17th place. Isabella Rimton is tied for 30th place with an 18 over par 84-78-162 while Kylie Greulich, playing as an individual, is tied for 50th place with a 27 over par 87-84-171.

Alexa Popowitz of Georgetown is the tournament leader at one over par, while Helga Einarsdottir of Albany sits in second place at three over.

The final round of the invitational will begin at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday.
