HARRISONBURG, Va. – The University of Delaware volleyball team dropped a three-set Colonial Athletic Association match to James Madison Friday night at Sinclair Gymnasium.

The Dukes, who improved to 14-2 overall and 5-2 in the league, captured the match by set scores of 25-20, 25-16, 25-15. Delaware fell to 3-15 overall including 1-7 in the conference.

Maria Bellinger blasted nine kills for the Blue Hens, while Brooke Robertson and Bailey Pearlman each added seven. Robertson also tied for the team lead with nine digs, with Kori Rasmussen adding nine of her own. Courtnie Roberts contributed 14 assists and six digs on the night, while Abby Skryd handed out 11 assists.

Bryn Recker posted a match-high 10 kills for JMU, which hit .340 as a team during the victory.

Delaware hung tough in the opening set, which featured 11 ties, but the Dukes eventually closed out the set by winning the final three points. JMU took seven of the final 10 points of the second frame to earn a two-set advantage, and never trailed in the third stanza.

• Bellinger has led UD in kills during all eight conference matches
• JMU held a 12-1 block advantage
• The Dukes have won eight of the last 10 meetings between the schools
• The match marked the halfway point of the Blue Hens’ CAA schedule
