HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- The Blue Hen volleyball team suffered a three-set loss to Hofstra Sunday afternoon at the Mack Physical Education Center.

The Pride, which improved to 15-11 overall and 7-5 in the Colonial Athletic Association, captured the match by set scores of 25-19, 25-16, 25-15. The Blue Hens dropped to 5-17 overall and 3-9 in conference play.

Brooke Robertson slammed a team-high seven kills for the Blue Hens, while Maria Bellinger added six of her own. Courtnie Roberts handed out 16 assists to go with four kills and five digs, while Maddie Judge led Delaware with 12 digs and Julia Hayes supplied three blocks.

Laura Masciullo led Hofstra with 14 kills and a .367 attack percentage, while Luisa Sydlik dished out 27 assists and Ivania Ortiz made 11 digs.

The opening set was tied 11-11, but Hofstra took the next five points and led the rest of the way. The Pride then closed the second frame with a five-point run as Hofstra took a two-set advantage. The Blue Hens jumped out to a quick 5-1 lead in the third stanza, but the Pride dominated from there to close out the win.
