NEWARK, Del -- The Blue Hen volleyball team fell to UNCW in a home match on Thursday night at the Bob Carpenter Center, as the Seahawks took the match by set scores 25-19, 25-19, 25-15.

Outside hitter Maria Bellinger (left) led the Blue Hens with nine kills and 13 digs, while contributing two blocks on the night. Freshman Courtnie Roberts (below) and senior Daria Robinson each posted six kills and two blocks, while Roberts led the Blue Hens with 22 assists. Sophomore Bailey Pearlman posted five kills on the night, while libero Maddie Judge contributed 11 digs.

UNCW’s Madison Peters led the Seahawks with 11 kills while Brynn Montgomery handed out 34 assists on the night.

The first set was tied 9-9, but the Seahawks took the next four points and led the rest of the way. UNCW only trailed briefly early in the second and third sets to post the victory.

Delaware returns to action on Saturday night when it takes on James Madison and Charleston on Sunday at the Bob Carpenter Center. Sunday’s match will honor seniors Raven Luckett and Daria Robinson in a pregame ceremony.
