NEWARK, Del. – Yale jumped out to a 24-point first half lead and held off the Blue Hens in the second half as the Bulldogs posted a 76-66 win over Delaware Monday night at the Bob Carpenter Center.

The Blue Hens (4-3) jumped out to an early 10-6 advantage, with Ryan Daly scoring eight points in the first three minutes. However the Bulldogs (4-4) answered with a 20-0 run, and after two free throws by Anthony Mosley, added eight more in a row to take a commanding 34-12 lead at the 8:58 mark. The cushion grew to as much as 24 before two Ryan Allen (left) free throws cut the margin to 46-25 at the break.

A dunk by Chyree Walker and a three-pointer by Allen closed the gap to 63-53 with nine minutes to play, but Delaware went scoreless over the next four and a half minutes as Yale scored six straight points to put the game away.

Mosley led Delaware with season-highs of 23 points and nine rebounds, while Allen enjoyed his second consecutive solid outing with 16 points in his first career start. Daly contributed 13 points, Walker chipped in with eight points and eight boards, and Derrick Woods led the team with 10 caroms.

Miye Oni paced Yale with 16 points, while Blake Reynolds added 15 of his own. The Bulldogs shot over 50 percent in each half, finishing at 52.7 percent for the game.

"Yale is a really good basketball team, and they got off to a great start. The difference between our energy in the first and second half was night and day. We need to get healthy, and not having Eric Carter at 100 percent hurt us. There were some teachable moments for our group tonight, seeing Yale share the basketball and play the game the right way. We need more of a presence when things aren't going well, our guys get deflated and put their heads down. I'm not happy with the result, but we need to learn from this and get better."
