KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The University of Delaware softball team concluded action at the Citrus Classic with a 9-6 loss to Binghamton Sunday afternoon at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex.

The Bearcats (2-4) jumped ahead in the top of the first inning on a two-run homer by Kate Richard, but Delaware (3-10) quickly pulled even in the bottom half when Giovanna Kolofer and Alyshia Dellatore each worked bases loaded walks.

Dellatore again walked with the bases loaded to force home Keiana Smith in the bottom of the third, and after Binghamton scored twice in the top of the fourth, Reyna de Jesus singled home Leanna Gearhart in the bottom half to knot the game at 4-4.

However the Bearcats went ahead for good in the top of the fifth on a two-run single by Kassidy Seary, and Richard belted her second homer of the day to highlight a three-run top of the seventh for Binghamton. De Jesus doubled home two runs in the bottom of the seventh, but she was thrown out at third to end the game.
