NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware softball team concluded its Colonial Athletic Association series with Drexel by dropping a 3-1 decision to the Dragons Monday afternoon at the UD Softball Stadium.

The game remained scoreless until the top of the sixth inning, when Drexel (8-8-1, 2-1 CAA) scored all three of its runs. Hannah Walker led off the frame with a single up the middle, and after Linda Rush worked a walk, Kristi DiMeo laced a two-run double to rightcenter. DiMeo then advanced to third base when Taylor Lee reached on a Blue Hen error and crossed the plate when Megan Trivelpiece bounced into a double play.

The Blue Hens (7-18, 1-2 CAA) rallied in the bottom half, as Giovanna Kolofer led off with a single up the middle and scored two outs later on a single to centerfield by Anna Steinmetz. Mariah Kondravy was then intentionally walked before Alyshia Dellatore reached on a Dragons error to load the bases, but Chayanna Gallardo popped out to second base to end the inning.

Drexel pitcher Katie Haley then retired Delaware in order in the bottom of the seventh to close out the victory.

• Kolofer and Steinmetz each went 2 for 3 at the plate for UD, while Dellatore had the other Blue Hen hit
• Steinmetz reached safely for the eighth consecutive game and increased her team-leading RBI total to 19
Maddi Marsh allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and struck out three in a complete game effort in the circle
• Drexel won the season series from Delaware for the first time since 2010
