WILLIAMSBURG Va. – Blue Hen senior Blaine Lafferty tied for 16th place in the individual standings while the University of Delaware men’s golf squad placed 15th in the team standings as UD concluded play at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate on Tuesday.

Delaware, which recorded team rounds of 304 and 298 during the first two days of the tournament, posted a 296 score during its final round to finish 15th out of 24 teams with an 898 total. Southern Illinois captured the team crown with an 862 score, followed by Utah Valley at 866 and Loyola (Md.) at 869.

Lafferty carded a two over par 72 during his final round on the par 70, 6,794-yard River Course at Kingsmill Resort, tying for 16th place with an eight over par 75-71-72-218. Jack Gianniny, who fired a 78-74-76-228, and Christian Chapman, who shot a 78-76-74-218, each tied for 66th place at the invitational at 18 over par.

Jack Melville tied for 72nd place with a 19 over par 74-81-74-229, while Kieran Purcell carded a 22 over par 77-77-78-232 to tie for 90th place.

Peyton Wilhoit of Southern Illinois was the tournament medalist as he posted a three-shot victory with a two under par 74-68-66-208.

Delaware returns to the course on Friday and Saturday when the Blue Hens compete in the Manor Intercollegiate at Manor Golf Club in Farmville, Va.
