FARMVILLE, Va. – The University of Delaware men’s golf team sits in second place while senior Jack Gianniny is tied for fourth following Friday’s opening two rounds at the Manor Intercollegiate.

The Blue Hens recorded team scores of 293 and 302 on Friday, ending the day in second place out of 13 squads with a 595 total. Tournament host Longwood leads the standings with a 591 score, while Delaware is four shots back and Western Carolina is third at 597.

Gianniny carded a two over par 74-72-146 during Friday’s action on the par 72, 7,246-yard Manor Golf Club course to finish the day tied for fourth place. Kieran Purcell is tied for eighth place with a four over par 75-73-148, while Blaine Lafferty (73-80-153) and Christian Chapman (76-77-153) are each tied for 20th place at nine over par.

Jack Melville is tied for 28th place with an 11 over par 71-84-155 while Nick Vecellio, playing as an individual, shot a 17 over par 79-82-161 and is tied for 49th place.

Jackson Bishop of Western Carolina holds a three-shot lead after carding a three under par 73-68-141 on Friday. The final round of the tournament will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Saturday.
