SOUTHPORT, N.C. – The University of Delaware women’s golf team sits in second place while sophomore Ariane Klotz is tied for second following Saturday’s action at the CAA Championship.

The second round and the front nine of the third round were completed on Saturday, with nine holes remaining in the tournament on Sunday.

The Blue Hens, who fired a 305 score on Friday, shot a 306 during Saturday’s second round and are six over par halfway through the third. Charleston leads the nine-team field at 34 over par, while Delaware is second at 41 over par. UNCW and Elon are tied for third place at 57 over par.

Klotz carded a two over par 74 on Friday on the par 72, 6,066-yard Reserve Club course at St. James Plantation, before shooting a three over par 75 during her second round. Klotz is one over par midway through the third round, and is tied for second place at six over par. Victoria Huskey of Charleston is the tournament leader at three over par, while Klotz and Liberty Anderson of UNCW are each three shots back.

Thitaree Sakulbunpanich recorded rounds of 74 and 78 before shooting a three over par halfway through her third round, and is tied for eighth place at 11 over par.

Ashley Dingman, who carded a 77 and 79, is even through the front nine of the third round to finish the day tied for 10th place at 12 over par. Valentina Mueller is also tied for 10th place after firing rounds of 80 and 74 and finishing her third round front nine at two over par.

Isabella Rimton is tied for 33rd place at 28 over par with rounds of 89 and 80 before a three over par front nine during her third round.

The final nine holes of the tournament will begin at 8 a.m. on Sunday, with the Blue Hens taking the course at 9:30 a.m.
