RALEIGH, N.C. – The University of Delaware men’s golf team carded its second consecutive 303 round on Sunday as the Blue Hens moved up one spot to finish in sixth place at the Colonial Athletic Association Championship.

The Blue Hens, who fired a 312 round on Friday and a 303 score on Saturday, finished sixth out of nine squads with a 918 total. UNCW captured the team title and earned an NCAA berth with an 881 score, followed by Charleston at 883 and Drexel at 886.

UD senior Kieran Purcell concluded his Blue Hen career with a three over par 75 on the par 72, 7,358-yard Lonnie Poole Golf Course, tying for 18th place with a 13 over par 80-74-75-229. Jack Melville carded his third consecutive round of 77, as he finished in a tie for 29th place with a 15 over par 77-77-77-231.

Jack Gianniny shot a 79 during the final round of his career, tying for 32nd place with a 17 over par 76-78-79-233. Fellow senior Blaine Lafferty tied Purcell for the lowest round of a day by a Blue Hen, as he tied for 35th place with an 18 over par 85-74-75-234. Christian Chapman also tied for 35th place after carding an 18 over par 79-79-76-234 during the tournament.

Michael Sass of Charleston was the tournament medalist as he posted a three-shot victory with a three under par 75-66-72-213.
