WEEKLY AWARDS: The Blue Hens earned a pair of awards this week as Hinton was named CAA Co-Pitcher of the Week and Ludman was named CAA Rookie of the Week. Hinton is coming off the strongest start of his career, throwing a complete game two-hit shutout. The Delaware native struck out a career-best 13 batters, including nine of the final 13 batters he faced. On Sunday, Ludman also had a career day, allowing just a solo home run and three hits over six innings. The St. Mark's product struck out 11 batters. It was the first CAA weekly award for both Hinton and Ludman. 

SEE YOU IN HARRISONBURG:  Delaware has clinched a spot in next week’s CAA Tournament (May 23-26) at James Madison. The Blue Hens currently sit in fifth place in the CAA standings, with the potential to finish anywhere from second to sixth in the final standings. The top two teams following this weekend will earn a bye in the first round of the tournament. The tournament begins with the 4/5 matchup Wednesday at 11 a.m., followed by the 3/6 matchup at 3:00 p.m. The two winners of the opening round advance to Thursday’s second round, with the two losers playing an elimination game Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.

HOWLIN’ HUSKIES: Northeastern enters the weekend series with a record of 31-17, 15-6 in the CAA. The Huskies currently occupy the top spot in the CAA, sitting a game clear of second place Charleston. NU also leads the conference in hitting, having compiled an average of .281. Outfielder Charlie McConnell has done most of the damage for Northeastern, as he leads the team in average (.350), stolen bases (33), on-base percentage (.422), hits (70), and runs (38). Jake Farrell has provided most of the power, hitting seven home runs and driving in 50. On the mound, usual Sunday starter Sean Mellen has pitched to a 10-1 record with a 1.60 ERA. Mellen has not been listed in the probable starters for the weekend. Closer Andrew Misiaszek has been strong late in games, converting 11 saves and striking out 54 in 47.2 innings.
