Niño Rosal Leads University of Delaware Men’s Golfers To Eighth Place Finish at Patriot Intercollegiate
LORTON, Va. -- Blue Hen junior Niño Rosal fired a 71 on Sunday as the University of Delaware men’s golf team finished in eighth place over the weekend at the George Mason Patriot Intercollegiate.
Delaware recorded its lowest team round of the tournament on Sunday with a 297, finishing eighth out of 11 teams with a three-round sore of 903. Marshall claimed the team title with an 861 score, while Columbia finished second at 872.
Rosal carded an even par 71 Sunday on the par 71, 6,903-yard Laurel Hills Golf Course, finishing 20th in the individual standings with a seven over par 75-74-71-220.
Sophomore Kyle Martin fired a four over par 75 during his final round, ending the weekend with an 11 over par 75-74-75-224 to tie for 25th place. Junior Fraser Graham, who carded a five over par 76 on Sunday, tied for 38th place with a 16 over par 76-77-76-229.
Senior Dan Costenbader shot a four over par 75 on Sunday to end up tied for 48th place with a 19 over par 79-78-75-232, while freshman Marc Oliveri tied for 54th place after carding an 84 to finish with a 26 over par 78-77-84-239.
Clark Robinson of Marshall earned medalist honors by carding a three under par 72-72-66-210, while Mark Folkwein of George Mason finished one shot back.
The Blue Hens are right back in action on Monday and Tuesday when they compete in the Joe Agee Invitational hosted by William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va.
