Alicia Greco-Walker, a 2008 University of Delaware graduate, begins her eighth season on the UD athletics staff in 2016-17.
She was promoted to the position of associate athletics director for events and operations in December, 2013.
In her role, Greco coordinates day-to-day operations of Delaware's 21-sport athletics program, coordinating team practice needs, scheduling facilities for games and practices, and supervising a part-time student staff as game management for UD home athletics contests.
In addition, she oversees all programming and events held in the Bob Carpenter Center. She also serves as the program administrator for women's golf and women's rowing.
While at Delaware, she has also served as vice-chair and strategic marketing director for the Annual Pigskin Pass fundraiser in 2006-09. The event, a 58-mile relay race involving student-athletes from Delaware and Towson University, raises money for Special Olympics.
Greco earned her master's degree in education at Delaware with a concentration in higher education administration and sport management in May, 2011. She earned her undergraduate degree in health and exercise science with a concentration in sport management and a minor in business administration in 2008.
Greco has also worked for the New York Mets baseball organization in their Corporate Sales & Services division. She served as a fantasy camp coordinator in January 2008 and 2009 and also as a site manager for Fan Photos in 2007-08.
In 2008, she worked for Octagon Inc. in Norwalk, Conn. as events coordinator for corporate events and hospitality for Lexus Champions for Charity. While there she was responsible for planning and execution of Lexus promotional activities at charity golf outings.
She resides in the Newark area with her husband, Brian Walker, who previously served as the pitching coach for the Blue Hen baseball team.
The couple was married in May, 2013.
