Sport Assignments: Volleyball, Women's Lacrosse
Kelly Stafford begins her fifth year with the University of Delaware Athletics in 2016-17 as an assistant athletic trainer. She works extensively with the Blue Hen volleyball and women's lacrosse programs and also serves as a clinical preceptor in the undergraduate athletic training education program.
Stafford received her bachelor's degree in athletic training from the University of Delaware in 2008. As an undergraduate, she earned the Paris Delligatti Memorial Scholarship for commitment to the well-being of student athletes and the departmental Robert A. Layton award for service and academics.
She earned her master’s degree in athletic training from the University of Kentucky in 2010. While at UK, she worked with a team of graduate assistants to organize, develop, and implement an athletic training program for 11 public middle schools in the Lexington, Ky. area.
Following graduate school she worked as the assistant athletic trainer at SUNY Old Westbury in Old Westbury, N.Y. While at Old Westbury she was awarded the departmental Ted Panteles Award for her dedication to the Athletics and Recreation Program.
She currently serves as the treasurer for the Delaware Athletic Trainers’ Association and has been an active member of the National Athletic Training Association since 2006.
A native of Reading, Pa., Stafford currently resides in Newark.
