Garrity scored the first two Delaware goals of the second half. The first came in the 69th minute after a long pass from freshman Kaz Boschen. After a scruffle in front of the net, Garrity’s shot trickled past the Howard keeper for his second goal of the season. Less than 10 minutes later it was Garrity again who scored after a pass from classmate Drew Colletti.

In the 86th minute, senior Luke Oostdyk scored his first goal of the 2013 season and the final Delaware goal of the game. Freshman Gil Simonetti registered his first collegiate assist on Oostdyk’s goal.

Junior keeper Borja Barbero earned the victory between the posts for Delaware. He now owns a 10-3 overall record this season.

“Our attention must quickly shift now to our home game against UNCW this Saturday night,” said Delaware head coach Ian Hennessy. “They had a big win against UNC and have already beaten Duke and Ohio State. For as well as this season has gone, we still need a win to head back to the CAA playoffs for the third time in four years, so we will do all we can to be focused and ready. It’s a big game for us.”

The Blue Hens return to Delaware Mini-Stadium when they host the Seahawks of UNCW in Colonial Athletic Association action. Delaware will be honoring eight members of the class of 2014 pregame on Saturday. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
