MALVERN, Pa. -- The University of Delaware men’s golf team tied for fifth place in the team standings while Blue Hen senior Dan Costenbader also tied for fifth in the individual standings as the Blue Hens concluded play at the Villanova Wildcat Invitational on Tuesday.

The Blue Hens tied for their second lowest round of the year by carding a 294 on Tuesday, finishing in a tie for fifth place with a three-round total of 907. Columbia won the 16-team tournament with a 892 score, while Army finished one shot back.

Costenbader tied for his lowest round of the year with a one under par 70 on the par 71, 7,055-yard course at White Manor Country Club, tying for fifth place with a seven over par 72-78-70-220. Costenbader, who posted his second top 10 finish of the campaign, recorded four birdies and 11 pars on the day.

Sophomore Kyle Martin carded a two over par 73 during his final round, tying for 14th place with an 11 over par score of 77-74-73-224. Martin birdied seven and capped Tuesday’s action by making eight consecutive pars.

Playing as an individual, UD junior Fraser Graham shot a seven over par 78 on Tuesday to also tie for 14th place at 78-68-78-224, 11 over par. Graham, whose second round 68 was the lowest by a Blue Hen this season, birdied seven and added 11 pars during Tuesday’s round.

Sophomore Colin McKenna fired a three over par 74 during his final round, tying for 22nd place with a 15 over par score of 80-74-74-228.  McKenna posted birdies on eight and 11 on Tuesday, and in addition to making 12 pars.

Freshman Joe Visalli, also playing as an individual, recorded a seven over par 78 during Tuesday’s round and finished in a tie for 58th place at 81-77-78-236, 23 over par. Classmate Marc Oliveri birdied one, six and seven during his final round of 77, finishing in a tie for 63rd place with a 25 over par score of 85-76-77-238. Blue Hen junior Niño Rosal carded a 12 over par 83 on Tuesday to tie for 78th place at 82-80-83-245, 32 over par.

Christopher Crawford of Drexel was named the tournament medalist following his one under par score of 70-68-74-212.

Delaware, which tied for its lowest team finish of the season, returns to action on Apr. 13-14 when the Blue Hens compete in the Fairleigh Dickinson Invitational at Crystal Springs Country Club in Hamburg, N.J.
