BALTIMORE  --  The University of Delaware captured first place in four events as six members of the Blue Hens outdoor track & field squad competed at the Coppin State Last Chance Meet Friday afternoon.

In addition to Delaware, others teams competing at the meet were host Coppin State, District of Columbia, Moravian, Wesley, Delaware State, Widener, and Johns Hopkins. The meet was held to give individuals the opportunity to improve their times and distances for qualification for the ECAC and NCAA regionals competitions later this month.

Delaware won four events on the day as Tyler Jackson captured the 200 meters in 25.40, Latoya James won the 100 meter hurdles in 13.78, Breanna Nicholson won the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 1:02.83, and Amira Idris was the winner in the long jump with a leap of 18-11 3/4.

Finishing second for Delaware were Paige Thompson-Charles in the 200 meters (26.18) and Chelsi Campbell in the 400 meters (56.35). Campbell’s time was a season-best.

Delaware, which captured the Colonial Athletic Association team title last week, will conclude the regular season on Monday, May 12, when several members of the squad are scheduled to compete at the Swarthmore (Pa.) College Last Chance meet beginning at 4 p.m.
