Kia Anderson joined the University of Delaware athletics staff in the new role of sports and entertainment sales coordinator in March, 2015.
She will be responsible for leading the group ticket sales effort for all sports and will work to grow hospitality tent sales for Blue Hen football games. In addition, she will also assist with summer youth sports camps and clinics and with external events on campus.
"We are extremely excited to have someone as talented as Kia on our team," said UD Assistant AD for Sports & Entertainment Sales David Arthur. "She brings a lot of knowledge and experience from her time working in Division I college athletics. Kia’s main charge will be to grow our group ticket sales as well as our hospitality tent sales."
"I am appreciative and excited for the opportunity to join the Delaware Blue Hens family," said Anderson. "Delaware has a rich tradition of athletics and I am eager to work with the UD staff and Delaware community on creating an exciting environment and entertaining experience for fans at Blue Hens athletics events."
A native of Princeton, N.J., Anderson joins the Delaware athletics staff after serving the last four years at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., including the last two-plus years as an account executive for group sales.
While at Northwestern, she was responsible for prospecting and selling tickets for groups for Northwestern football and men's basketball games, organizing hospitality, and providing marketing and promotions support.
Prior to becoming an account executive at Northwestern, she served nearly two years on the Wildcat staff as a marketing intern in gameday operations, assisting the marketing department during football, soccer, basketball, softball, and lacrosse events.
She graduated cum laude with a degree in psychology with a sport management minor from Denison University in Granville, Ohio in 2008 and earned her master's degree in sport administration from Northwestern.
While at Denison, she was a four-year member of the nationally-ranked soccer team, earned all-conference honors four times, and served as a team captain as a senior. She also worked as a strength & conditioning sport management intern and served as team manager for the tennis team as well.
Anderson also worked in various roles within the athletics department at Princeton University for five years in 2003-08, was a community relations volunteer with the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women's Soccer League in 2010, and worked four years as a senior technical recruiter for national IT staffing leader Randstad Technologies in Chicago for four years before joining the Northwestern staff.
