Jim McGuire
Assistant Coach

Jim McGuire is currently in his first season as assistant strength & conditioning coach at the University of Delaware in 2016-17.

In his role McGuire has primary responsibility with the Blue Hen baseball and men's lacrosse teams and secondary duties with the football squad. The UD baseball team captured the Colonial Athletic Association title in 2017 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

McGuire arrived in Newark after four years as an assistant in the Merrimack strength & conditioning department, where he oversaw strength efforts for eight Warriors programs, including football and men's basketball.

He was a volunteer football strength & conditioning coach for the Boston College football team during the summer of 2012, while he served as a graduate assistant at Springfield College the previous year. At Springfield, he worked with the men's basketball, women's lacrosse, men's track, and field hockey squads.

McGuire worked as a football strength & conditioning intern at UConn and South Carolina in 2011, after serving as an intern at Springfield College and as an assistant coach at Achieve Performance Training in 2010.

McGuire was a football assistant coach at Plymouth State University from 2008-10 before starting in the field in 2009 as a volunteer strength & conditioning intern at Holy Cross.

McGuire is a NSCA certified strength & conditioning specialist.
