A 2012 graduate of the University of Delaware, McDonough returned to the Blue Hens sidelines in February 2016 as the program’s director of player personnel. In her role, she is responsible for leadership development on and off the field with a focus on supporting team members achieve their academic and service goals.
During her junior campaign, McDonough was one of the team’s co-captains alongside current assistant coach Corrine Drost. A midfielder for the Hens, she was named the 2011 CAA Women’s Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year and also garnered All-CAA First Team and team MVP accolades.
Off of the field she kept the Hens involved in the community while orchestrating UD’s first-ever varsity team sponsorship of an Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation B+ Hero. Since the unity in 2011, Delaware women’s lacrosse has been avid volunteers and advocates for the B+ Foundation while raising awareness and funds for the fight against childhood cancer.
Prior to her appointment in Newark, McDonough served a season as a volunteer assistant coach at Drexel University.
She also spent time with the U.S. Probation Office in the District of Hawaii as a Presentence Assistant and in Philadelphia as an Intern in addition to the Delaware State Legislature where she was a Legislative Fellow in the House Majority Caucus.
McDonough graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Affairs and Public Policy and was a member of the National Honors Society, Golden Key International Honors Society and Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society. She also obtained her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania with a 4.0 GPA in 2015.
