Position: Senior Associate AD for Strategic Initiatives & Talent Management

Jacqui Schuman, who has excelled in the areas of student-athlete development and welfare, facilities, revenue generation, and event management in collegiate and high school athletics over the last decade, was named to the new position of senior associate athletic director for strategic initiatives and talent management at the University of Delaware in October, 2016. 

In her new position, Schuman will be responsible for overseeing strategic initiatives, project management, and special assignments within the department.

"Jacqui is a talented individual who brings a shared vision for the future of Delaware Athletics," said Delaware Director of Athletics and Recreation Services Chrissi Rawak in making the announcement. "She has excelled in all of his previous roles in higher education and we are fortunate to have her unique skill sets and talents here at Delaware.”

Most recently, Schuman served as the division head for athletics and wellness at the Convent of the Sacred Heart High School in New York City, overseeing the new Athletics and Wellness Center, the physical education, wellness, and athletic department staffs, and coordinating revenue generation efforts for athletics.

Schuman previously served as associate athletic director at Catholic University in Washington, D.C., where she oversaw all aspects of the internal and external athletic facilities while managing athletic, campus, and community events, including the NCAA basketball championship.

A 1999 honors graduate of Vanderbilt University with a degree in human and organizational development, she later earned her master's degree in exercise and sport science with a concentration in sports administration from the University of North Carolina in 2002. While at Vanderbilt, she competed for the Commodore track & field squad.

Prior to her time at Catholic, Schuman worked in the areas of student-athlete development and welfare at Florida Atlantic University and the University of Tennessee.

She has also been a consultant for both the National Consortium for Academics and Sport and for the Center for the Study of Sports in Society through the Mentors in Violence Prevention, Team Leadership Institute, and Branded a Leader programs.
