A former standout field hockey player at the University of Delaware, Jennifer Judy returned to her alma mater in August, 2015 to assume the role of associate athletics director for student-athlete development and senior woman administrator.
In September, 2016, her title was changed to senior associate athletics director for student services and sport administration and senior woman administrator.
The former Jenn Fotiou (pronounced “fo-dee-oh”), she returned to Delaware after spending the previous 10 years at UD’s Colonial Athletic Association rival Towson University. She began her tenure there in 2005 and served as coordinator of team support services and director of team support and camp services before being promoted to associate athletics director, chief of staff, in December of 2013.
“I am extremely excited to get started as the SWA at my alma mater,” said Judy. “I’ve been so fortunate in 10 years at Towson to work alongside my Blue Hens in a friendly rivalry, and it will be gratifying to contribute to the great mission and success at UD."
Judy is a member of the UD athletics senior staff, serves as senior woman administrator, acts as program administrator for several programs, and heads up the student-athlete development initiatives which are designed to enhance and support UD student-athletes as they maximize their collegiate careers and prepare themselves for future success.
She serves as the liaison to Career Services and lead the centralization of all student-athlete initiatives including community service and leadership initiatives. She also coordinates new student orientation and transition programming for all new student-athletes, including the development of mentorship opportunities, and serves as an advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC).
While at Towson, Judy coordinated strategic planning and university assessment efforts and facilitated the implementation of those projects. Prior to her promotion, Judy was responsible for all team travel coordination as well as organizing the Towson sports’ summer camps. She also had sport oversight for the field hockey, swimming & diving, and softball programs.
Before coming to Towson, she was the sports information director and head field hockey coach at Rosemont College in Pennsylvania. Prior to that, Judy earned her Master of Arts in physical education/athletic administration from Ball State University in Muncie, Ind. in December 2003. While there, she was the assistant field hockey coach for the Cardinals for two seasons.
A native of Oley, Pa., Judy earned her Bachelor of Arts in English - journalism and communication from Delaware in 2002 and was a four-year starter and two-year captain for the Blue Hen field hockey team under head coach Carol Miller in 1998-2001.
She led the Blue Hens to a 15-6 record as a freshman in 1998 and to a 13-8 mark as a senior in 2001 when Delaware was runner-up at the America East Tournament. For her career, she played in 82 games with 56 starts and recorded 9 goals and 10 assists.
Judy earned CAA Academic Honor Roll honors and was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Team twice. During her final semester at Delaware, and just after graduation, she was an intern for the Wilmington Blue Rocks minor league baseball organization, working in community relations.
She and her husband, former Towson Director of Olympic Sports Strength & Conditioning Jesse Judy, have two children, Katelyn and Jackson
