CENTERVILLE, Mass. – For the second straight week, a University of Delaware field hockey player was honored as both the CAA and ECAC Player of the Week as the ECAC recognized Michaela Patzner (Rosenheim, Germany) Wednesday for her performances this past weekend.

Patzner was a key component to Delaware's 4-0 win at Drexel Friday, helping the Blue Hens (14-4; 6-0 CAA) clinch the regular season CAA championship.  Furthermore, UD wrapped up regular season play with a 6-1 victory over Villanova at Rullo Stadium.

Patzner tallied three goals and one assist over the two games.  Additionally, she collected the game-winning goal in each contest.  Patzner is currently 23rd in the NCAA with 1.89 points per game and 25th nationally with 0.78 goals per contest.  She leads the Hens with 34 points (CAA leader) and 14 goals (tied for CAA lead) and currently is tops on the Delaware active career leaders list with 21 career goals and 49 points.

Delaware freshman Esmée Peet (Zeewolde, The Netherlands) was named the ECAC Player of the Week for Oct. 30.

UD will host the 2013 CAA Field Hockey Championships this coming weekend at Rullo Stadium.  The top-seeded Blue Hens will host #4 William & Mary at 4 p.m. Friday with #2 Drexel facing off against #3 Northeastern at 7 p.m.

The 2013 CAA Championship Final will be played at 1 p.m. Sunday.

General admission for the tournament is $7 while youth (18 and younger) tickets are $5 each.  All participating institution’s students are admitted free of charge with a valid student ID.
