RICHMOND, Va. -- University of Delaware junior guard Kyle Anderson was named the Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday following a pair of outstanding shooting performances during the Blue Hens’ two games last week.

Anderson, a native of Newark, Ill. (Newark HS), averaged 24.0 points and 4.0 rebounds against Charleston Southern and Notre Dame, going 17 of 23 (73.9%) from the field including 13 of 18 (72.2%) from three-point range.

Anderson scored a career-high 29 points during last Tuesday’s win over the Bucs, finishing 10 of 12 from the field and 8 of 10 from beyond the arc. His eight three-pointers tied the UD single game record, also held by Billy Wells vs. Hartford in 2000 and Jawan Carter vs. Howard in 2010. Anderson made his final six three-point attempts in the victory, to go with five rebounds and two assists.

Anderson followed that performance by pouring in 19 points Saturday at Notre Dame, as he went 7 of 11 from the floor including 5 of 8 from deep. He also contributed three rebounds, an assist and a steal against the Irish, while playing 36 minutes in both contests during the week.

Anderson, who is 32 of 52 from three-point range over the last seven contests, leads the CAA with 4.0 three-pointers made per game and ranks fourth in Division I with 36 three-pointers made. His 56.3 three-point percentage also leads the conference and is tied for 11th in Division I. Additionally, Anderson ranks eighth in the conference by averaging 15.9 points per game and is ninth in the league by averaging 34.4 minutes per contest.
